One of the nicest things about Marbella is that it is not at all pompous; it really doesn’t take itself too seriously. It combines the wealth and opulence with an old world charm that is often so lacking in many of the other famous European towns. Places such as ‘Orange Square’ give the area a down-to-earth feel whilst remaining one of the most beautiful places you could hope to visit. The magnificent 16th century Town Hall is worth the trip alone and it is here that you will find out more about what other delights await you in this Spanish paradise.
For those who love to indulge in a little retail therapy, Ricardo Soriano is the road to head for. Here you will find all manner of shops selling fabulous clothing, shoes and jewellery. Marbella Town is a splendid place to while away a few hours strolling through the cobbled streets. The range of small independent boutiques here is staggering and you will be certain to find something entirely unique if you take the time to look. Everything from handmade dolls houses to artisan food is available; the hardest thing is carrying it all back to your apartment!
As you would expect from a Spanish resort, golf is everywhere. The weather is perfect for the game and the courses that are on offer allow you to enjoy it to the fullest. Known by many as ‘Golf Valley’, the Costa del Sol has some real tests for your golf game and some of the scenery that surrounds many of the courses is simply breath-taking. The Costa del Sol region boasts four out of the top ten golf courses in Europe, including the Ryder Cup hosting Valderrama Golf Club.
As well as the sun, another thing that Marbella is synonymous with is nightlife. Marbella bustles at night and there is no end of entertainment for people of all ages. Glorious restaurants serving the finest fresh seafood are mixed in with bars and clubs that have a far friendlier feel to them than many UK venues you may be used to.
There are many examples of beachfront property for sale in Marbella that have amazing views out over the ever-beautiful Mediterranean Sea as well as numerous luxury apartments that are merely a stone’s throw away from the world famous Nikki beach. Marbella also has an extremely wide range of private schooling options should you be thinking of moving here with the family so you can rest assured that your children’s education will not suffer if you do make the move.
Marbella’s motto is ‘A Way of Life’ – it would be easy to make it yours too.
